My name is Sean Murphy, and I train with South Michigan Schutzhund and Police Club. I joined SMSPC in 2003 with my young female GSD after looking for something to challenge her beyond basic obedience. Needless to say I was hooked, and soon was hooked by helper work as well. I have performed helper work at the club level, have been selected as front half helper for the Mid East Region Regionals in 2008 and 2009. I was selected to work the SchH1 and SchH2 dogs at last years Working Dog Championships. Additionally, in November, I was selected as front half helper at the GSD Nationals in Iowa. I have been very fortunate to receive instruction from many great helpers and handlers along the way. I would not have these great opportunities without all of you. Special thanks to everyone at SMSPC for their continued support, Mark Scarberry for his training, and the opportunities he has provided me, and last but not least, my wife for allowing me to be involved in a very demanding sport, and continually supporting my efforts. I wish all the luck to the competitors, and look forward to seeing some familiar faces and making new acquaintances.
